Features of the Murray Princess Paddle Wheeler
13 July 2021
Step aboard the PS Murray Princess and enjoy all the charm and character this authentic paddle wheeler has to offer as you cruise along Australia’s mighty Murray River. You can view the huge stern paddle wheel through a double story lounge window as it drives through the water and gently moves along the largest inland paddle wheeler in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy the feeling of days long past, but with all the convenience you would wish for today.

The PS Murray Princess has a maximum capacity for passengers of 120 and is registered in the historic town of Mannum, South Australia, about 80 kilometres east of Adelaide. The PS Murray Princess weighs 1.5 tonnes and is 67 metres in length, with a gentle speed of 6 knots.
The cruising experience along the Murray River is both relaxed and informal by style. You can enjoy the sun deck, have a drink at the bar, or sit back and relax in one of the two lounges to the beautiful setting of one of the world’s great rivers. There is a gift shop for all your souvenirs and a library that includes videos, DVDs and plenty of books to enjoy. You also have access to the guest laundry and a mini gym.
You will also get plenty of opportunities for nature walks, exploring old riverside ports, and experiencing a different side of the Australian outback.

During your cruise, you will be enjoying a seasonal menu, which always includes fresh, locally sourced produce served in the elegant dining room on the Sturt Deck. Scotch fillet, chicken, salmon and lamb shanks are just some of the choices, accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee. You can view a sample menu here. We cater to Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian, Diabetic and non-seafood passengers when we are provided with the appropriate notice and information on special dietary requirements.
The PS Murray Princess offers 54 cabins and 6 staterooms with a private bathroom ensuite, electric blankets, soap, shampoo, hairdryers, towels, daily servicing and free wifi. The majority of the outside cabins have twin bedding with limited double bedded cabins available. Each cabin is around 12sq metres, and four of the outside cabins and their ensuite bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
The two cabins located on Randell Deck are directly opposite the lift and provide easy access to the lounge decks and our dining room. Inside cabins are on the lower deck and offer twin bedding with limited double bedded cabins available; all have portholes facing the outside. The inside Cabins can only be accessed via stairs; there is no lift access to this deck. Five passengers decks, Sturt, Randell, Cadell and Chaffey deck, all named after the Murray River’s great pioneers, and a Sun Deck.
With many adventures to be had both on and off the river, from full-day trips out to Kangaroo Island to winetasting to exploring Ngaut Ngaut conversation park. There is no shortage of things to do, so experience the mighty Murray River on the majestic Murray Princess Cruise.
